Frequency Distribution of Countries Based on Population in 2022

The frequency distribution of populations is very skewed towards the lower end of the histogram. Ninety-six percent of countries has population of less than 140 million. The average population of countries is 34 million people, which is about the size of Malaysia, Peru, or Uzbekistan. This average value, however, may not reflect the center point of the data because it is affected by the outliers on the larger part of the population spectrum. Countries with the lowest number of population has the population of 0.01 million which is ten thousand people or less. Such countries are Nauru, Saint Barthélemy, Saint Helena, Saint Pierre and Miquelon, Tuvalu, and Wallis and Futuna Islands. All of the aforementioned countries are small islands in Oceania, North America, or Africa.
